John and Elaine

Elaine:
My name is Elaine Marshall, and this is my husband, John. We have been client’s of BlueSky for about the last eight years, and our adviser is Kevin Gribben.

I was first introduced to BlueSky through John. John had already been working with them as part of his business, and I was looking to retire, and wanted to try and find out financially how possible and realistic that was going to be.

John:
I think the problems and challenges that we wanted to address, were how to be efficient in relation to issues around tax and how we could then start to plan efficiently and effectively towards retirement.

We chose BlueSky because we were impressed by their professionalism and the first face to face meeting we had with our adviser, he put us at ease in relation to what our longer term plans were, what our aspirations were, assessed our needs on an ongoing basis, and that was the platform for moving forward to the next stage in our conversation with BlueSky.

Elaine:
John and I, we are very fortunate that we had our first grandchild last year, so Kevin from BlueSky has been excellent in offering advice on how we can set up policies etc, for our new grandchild, and that’s been really helpful for us as well.

John:
BlueSky has helped us on the right path moving forward, but importantly, it’s also helped us think more broadly about how we should plan, taking into account our family, our children, our grandchildren, and to plan for the future.

Elaine:
Working with BlueSky makes me feel very reassured, and every year, at least once a year, Kevin will do a review meeting. We know exactly where we are. We know, what we can or maybe can’t do over the next year. And it’s continually reassuring that we’re going to be all right through our whole retirement life.

John:
I think our discussion with BlueSky has helped us step out with confidence to enjoy life at this stage. Don’t be afraid of the future, because that’s all part of the process as well. It’s been very helpful for us to enjoy this part of our life, which I think is very, very important.

Elaine:
I’m very confident about where we are, and I’m confident about making the most of the spending years, as Kevin from BlueSky talks about. So John and I, we’re both in our 60s, we’re very much 60 to 70 is traveling time, going on holidays, doing as much as we possibly can, and working with BlueSky has given us that confidence to do it.

The three words that I would use to describe BlueSky would be professionalism, trust, and providing reassurance.

John:
The best thing about working with BueSky is the value of the relationship that’s been formed. Without a doubt, we have a trusting relationship, and that’s pivotal to everything that we do with BlueSky.

Elaine:
I would definitely recommend BlueSky to other people, if for no other reason, to gain an understanding of what your financial situation is and how you can make the most of it. And that’s where we have been really, really pleased with the advice that we’ve been given.
